Our specialty grade beans from Alajuela, Costa Rica are the perfect coffee for those looking for something sweet and for those not afraid to try something different. Alajuela is one of Costa Rica's most diverse provinces, with altitudes ranging from 300 feet to 8871 feet at the Poás Volcano. Coffee from this Western Valley region is defined by its origin identity and its organoleptic characteristics: good acidity, body, and aroma. What was once a small coffee producing town is now a bustling city with a population of over 120,000. This organic, specialty grade coffee is a testament to the success of Costa Rica as a major coffee producing country. And this medium roast is no exception with a sweet apple, raisin, and honey flavor profile. It is also known for its mild acidity, making it very easy on the palate.
We suggest ordering whole beans and grinding just before use, but we are also happy to grind it for you. Select espresso grind for a smoother, more European/Australian style coffee, or standard grind for a coarser more typically American style coffee, cold brew or cowboy coffee.
